Church at Ŝingeyrar BL10-06-13

Legislative assemblies held in the Commonwealth period 930-1264 gave their name to Ŝingeyrar.
The first church was founded in 1133 by Bishop Jón Ögmundarson to celebrate the relief of famine.
The present stone church was built in 1877.
